  1. Reality and realty television differentiate in many different and simple ways. Reality television creates an environment where people are pitted together to give them a chance to not only make a television appearance, but also to make themselves look better at the fault of others. Reality is the actuality of life and the people who partake in living. Reality is where people live their ordinary lives, do the things they were going to do without an influence of millions of people watching, TV cameras, and people following them. Reality takes place with real people, do their real and mostly boring jobs, and live their boring lives. Reality Television is meant to be enjoyable to the audience, so in order for views to increase, and for everyone to make more money, they provide odd people, weird back-stories, and bad situations for everyone to be a part of, to create problems and make for a better television show. People are constantly watching these shows, claiming they are real and true, but in reality are completely scripted and imaginary. If shows were truly made for reality, and weren't fake or scripted, then the television fad of "Reality Television" would suffer dramatically. No one would want to watch the channel for more than 5 minutes if they had to watch people live their ordinary boring lives, such as watching them watch television, walking their dog, or building a mailbox! While It may be completely fake, and un-enjoyable to many of us, It provides a show where we can make fun of, and watch other people's misfortunes. It helps us to forget about our own reality and problems, and use them as a sort of scapegoat for our troubles. We constantly push our problems aside, and focus on other people's problems. We block of the people who are arrogant and rude, and just because we don't see them, or hear them doesn't mean that they aren't there. Shows like "Keeping up with the Kardashians" and "Jersey Shore" paint us a picture on the attitude of specific people, who aid their stereotypes in both bad and worsening views. Because of those shows, people can make assumptions about their ethnicities, backgrounds, and views, just on watching a mindless TV show that pays them millions of dollars just to act dumb on! The true difference between reality and Reality Television is that reality is what we live, and Reality Television is what we watch, to escape the problems we live with.
